I always pair up anything I create with a piece of writing that I’m more proud of than the actual art work itself. No one likes to read the written part though, usually, and not because they don’t like what it says, but because it requires them to read. Now I understand this, but it gives me anxiety because I want to feel comfortable showing my work, and how can I show a piece without someone fully committing to wanting to understand it? Maybe this is a little extreme, but I don’t feel the visual piece is worth much without the context I provide for it. The written part is so important! The thoughts in my head are way more significant to me than the visual I end up producing.
